Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book?

Please use the booking page to view our availability calendar and make a booking.

Do you have a minimum number of nights booking policy?

No - except for glamping

What do we need to bring?

You need to bring everything with you that you will need to camp. We suggest that if you are sensitive to the noise of church bells and crowing cockerels, you also bring some ear plugs! The church bells in Whichford ring every 15 minutes, day and night, all year around. P

lease bring separate strong dustbin bags for your rubbish and recycling.

Can we bring our dogs?

No - we do not allow dogs on the campsite, because we want to protect the wildlife that have chosen to live here.

What is your policy on noise?

We want to keep noise to a minimum, and so have designated ourselves as a "quiet glampsite and campsite". This means that we have banned the use of stereos, ipod docs, and instruments. We only take couples, singles and children age 12 or over. We do not allow unaccompanied teenagers. This is in order to ensure that all our guests get what they bargained for! Anyone disturbng the tranquility will be politely asked to leave.

Can we have fires?

Yes you can have fires but only in fire baskets/pits. These can be your own or the ones we supply onsite. Strictly no fires to be had on the ground. If your pit is open and leaks ashes please use a protective mat to stop the ground being burned. You can bring your own firewood, or buy it on site for £4 per bag.

Can we book the whole site?

No, our booking system limits each person to a maximum of one booking, as we do not allow groups.

What is the maximum number of people that I can book for?

The maximum you can book for online is 2 adults and 2 children, we can take bookings of upto 5 people (5 adults too) but this must be prearrange with us and permission given. Please send us a message in the chat box and we will let you know.

How close is the pub?

The pub is just under a 5 minute walk through the sleepy village of Whichford.

How far is the local shop?

There is a village shop in Long Compton (2.5 miles) which sells most provisions and newspapers. A larger village shop can be found in Hook Norton (4 miles), which sells all the basic provisions and more. Wyatts farm shop (3 miles) towards Rollright, sells good local produce, including vegetables, meat, cheese, wine, and also has a cafe. There is also a very good shop, Taste of the Country, selling quality meat and other produce located in Shipston-on-Stour (6 miles).

Can we bring our motorhome/campervan/caravan? Do you have electric points for caravans?

Yes you can bring your own van; we do allow campervans but not motorhomes. We do not have grey water/chemical disposal points on site. If it is wet, we may ask you to park near the gate as it is easy to get cars and vans stuck on the site in wet conditions. Caravans are not generally welcome, although we may make an occasional exception. The local pub - The Norman Knight - has the facilities to take caravans. We now have 3 dedicated hookup points for campervans, these must be booked when booking your pitch.

How far is the nearest supermarket?

There is a Sainsbury's supermarket in Chipping Norton (6 miles) and a Co-op in Shipston-on-Stour (6 miles). Both sell all of the basics. There is a new Waitrose in Stratford-upon-Avon (13 miles), a Tesco in Stow-on-the-wold (12 miles) and Banbury (11 miles) has every supermarket known to man.

Is there a 'check-in' time?

The check in time is 3pm onwards.

Is there a 'check-out' time?

The check out time is 11am.

Can we park our car near our structure?

It depends on if it has been raining. If it is dry you can park near the yurt, airstream or gypsy, but if it is wet we suggest parking in our driveway and walking (This is not far at all)

Can we go anywhere on the camp/glamp site?

There are areas of the site that are off limits. This includes the glamping structures not hired by you, the glamping bathroom (unless a glamper) and the owners garden beyond the wooden fence. If you are camping you must not set up on the right side of the moat, as you come in. This is clearly signed.
